The Netherlands is bracing for a stretch of hot and sunny weather, with temperatures expected to soar above 30°C in many inland areas through Friday. However, weather experts have cautioned that thunderstorms could develop later in the day, particularly affecting the southern part of the country.

On Thursday, residents can anticipate widespread sunshine with temperatures reaching up to 27°C. The heat is set to intensify on Friday, as inland regions are forecasted to experience highs between 30°C and 33°C, while coastal areas will remain cooler, thanks to a sea breeze coming from the west.

As conditions heat up on Friday afternoon, forecasters have issued a yellow weather warning for the provinces of Noord-Brabant, Gelderland, and Limburg, effective from 5 p.m. This alert is due to the potential for severe thunderstorms, which may bring heavy rain, hail, and strong wind gusts.

Looking ahead to Saturday, the warm and summery weather is expected to persist in inland areas, with temperatures ranging from 25°C to 28°C. Meanwhile, the beaches and coastal regions will continue to enjoy cooler conditions. However, a change in the weather is anticipated on Sunday, as cloud cover increases and showers become more likely over the weekend.

As the week progresses, the outlook becomes more unsettled. Next week is expected to bring a higher chance of rain and showers, with temperatures dropping below 20°C for average daytime highs, signaling a significant shift from the warm spell.
